The Leblanc Bliss Clarinet

Designed by clarinettist Julian Bliss, designer Morrie Backun and Leblanc Clarinets, the Bliss Clarinet is a striking new design intended "to play with a clear, even sound, play in tune and have quick and comfortable keys" whilst having a look like no other. The majority of this new look came out of solutions to the acoustic and performance demands. The material used is a new compound developed after much trial and error. The result is a clarinet that produces a fuller sound than a standard clarinet made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). The material is also much stronger - as a result, the barrel and bell have been made narrower significantly reducing weight and brightening the sound significantly. The rings have been removed to make the body sleeker and the keys are plated with black nickel (a feature that Bliss likes so much that he has had it installed on his other clarinets). The model Wood, Wind and Reed are carrying at the moment comes supplied with a wooden Backun barrel and a rucksack case.
Bliss says of the clarinet: "What we have created is a durable, value priced clarinet that players of any level can play and feel secure doing so. In fact, the majority of our orders are coming from military bands around the world as well as professionals that do a lot of outdoor gigging or pit work...these clarinets [are] useful in a wide variety of performance situations making them as appealing to the professionals as they are to the casual player or student."
Come and try this great value 'upgrade' clarinet at Wood, Wind and Reed and see for yourself.
